Elaine Souda was born in Quincy, Massachusetts and grew up in Boston and Miami. She graduated from Florida State University and took the next plane to New York City where she studied at the Art Student’s League with Robert Beverly Hale and Richard Pousette-Dart. The Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan, the Guggenheim, the Whitney and the great museums of Europe were also her classroom as well as the streets of New York. She became a graffiti artist in the 80s and worked under the name of es53. Her paintings have been shown in galleries here in America and abroad. She presently lives and works in Boston. Her work is in some of the most prestigious art collections around the world.
